We've discovered stickers around here. Surprisingly, they don't go on top of the head (that's reserved for food and puzzle pieces, I guess) but they do end up on various parts of the face.

Oh What Fun It Is To...
Life through the eyes of a toddler is pretty fun, funny, and messy. Molly's been up to her usual shenanigans and I've decided that I should just travel with a wet washcloth and a dustbuster attached to me at all times. Or maybe some Go Go Gadget arms so that I could possibly keep up with the deconstruction that happens at a near constant pace. If you come over in the near future, I might recommend watching your step so that you don't trip on a fleeing Harry or do a banana peel slip and fall on, well, probably a banana (or nanana as some folks pronounce it) peel. Also, please don't expect to sit down and relax on the couch since a little one has recently learned how to climb up on the couch all by herself and likes to bounce, bounce, bounce her way from one end to the other. Definitely, definitely don't expect to find a clean surfact above 3 feet either, since stuff has been constantly migrating upwards away from sticky fingers who have their own Go Go Gadget tenticles on them. If you're in the mood for some down and dirty laughing and don't mind a few cracker crumbs in your socks, though, I have a pretty good idea of where you can go...
Thankfully, Grampy took some pictures of the adventures at their house last weekend. A little swinging in the sun does a body good.
Little boots aren't just for puddle stomping. They make fun tracks in the last few patches of snow too.
Our own version of Head Wound Harry... somewhere, the sign for "all done" became food on the head.
Molly is helpfully getting tupperwear out in the early part of the day just in case there are some leftovers at dinner. Why keep things in a basket when the floor works perfectly well as a storage unit?
Mmmmmh... Baked shoe a la Molly. Cooked just right so that it's mouth-watering good.
Is there anything more funny than discovering your own belly button? Since Molly's own belly button is often inaccessible under her onesie, she might try looking for yours. Consider yourself warned.

On Top Of Her Game
We went to my parents' house this weekend so that we could a) welcome them home from their vacation and b) snooker them into some free babysitting so that we could go out and watch a movie (good thing grandparents are pretty easy to snooker). Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of the puddle-stomping and acorn-collecting good times. My forgetfulness was probably due to the fact that I didn't have my thinking cap on...
...next time, I'll try and remember to call ahead (with a remote nonetheless) so that someone can help me remember. Molly is clearly more on top of things than I am these days.

Details, Details
They say that the devil is in the details... sometimes I wonder if the she's actually living right here in Newburyport. Molly is a kid who lives life to the fullest (with gusto, my mom says), and uses up every ounce of energy in every minute of every day. Once in awhile (usually after I've put away all the crackers in the pantry for the seventy ninth time), I wonder if I could rent one of those quiet kids. Maybe I'd like to try out one of those brands who doesn't finish her meal by putting food on top of her head or who doesn't eat dirt or who doesn't throw a hissy fit when I won't let her walk with a stick in her mouth or who doesn't go tearing after seagulls despite the fact that a 10 foot embankment of rocks is between her and those nasty birds. In the end, though, after all the (shockingly polite) "no no"s of the day are done and Molly is out like a light because her peepers can't be pried open for another story, I always end up coming around to that place where I know her spunk is magical and she gives just as much love as she receives. On even the most exhausting days, that little voice back in my head reminds me that we all love our children because of who they are, not because of what they do.

Freedom
As I'm sure almost every parent throughout New England did this weekend, we made a pilgrimage to a snow-free park. It was so nice to be able to run around without snow getting in our toddling way. Molly even walked most of the way there (and that's a whole lotta something when you're legs are only about a foot long) and had no desire to hold anyone's hand to navigate. She's not the easiest filly to corral and now that she has a working vocabulary (word most often used?: no), she'll tell you exactly what's on her mind (and sometimes what's on your mind too).

An Apple A Day
I don't know if it's because apple is one of the words the little pip squeak can say or if it's because she's truly obsessed with apples, but we seem to be going through them like wildfire around here. She eats down to the seeds, too. There is about a pin head sized remnant left when she's done with it. Waste not want not, I guess.
Speaking of words that she can say, Molly enjoys saying her own name very much. Her little vanity plate tradition continues as she goes around saying "Hi Molllllllllllllllllllll-y" (although it really sounds like "Hi Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwww-ee"). Apparently, she's the only one in the family really worth talking to. Well, other than Harry, of course. It's good that Harry has someone to talk to him since he and I aren't really on speaking terms after his shenanigans of this week.

All Sorts of Friends
When aunts and uncles come to play, it's never anything short of fun. Meg and Greg (aka Maaag and Unca Big) paid us a visit this past weekend and Greg stayed on a few extra days since John was out of town. They brought Molly on some adventures and we managed to have some good old fashioned fun at home too.

Full Bodied
Although Molly started slimming down and losing some of her lbs once she started walking (and hasn't stopped), her diaper has not followed suit. Her cloth diapers give her a nice booty (which she puts to good use during her Dance, Dance Revolution moments) and require jeans with a little space in the derriere. I had to pass up a lot of cute little skinny jeans during my search for the full figured kind. I hope elastic waists are still in with the under 2 set.
We've had fun visitors recently -- thanks to everyone who has come up!

Tea Partay
Oh, the things that you might never see yourself doing... I'm going to guess that John had too much fun building popsicle stick stadiums as a kid to engage in many tea parties so I guess he's making up for lost time. On the other hand, he seemed like an old hand at the one he and Molly recently had so it leaves one to wonder...

Peek-a-box
Molly 's newest plaything -- a giant box. Grampy saved one for her and it's newly installed in our living room. It's been loads of fun to play peek-a-boo in, make some calls from, and can even be used as a box built for two. We're battling a stomach bug here that has wreaked havoc on our weekend plans so email me if you'd rather see pictures of regurgitated blueberries...
